National English Competition for College Students，NECCS is a national English proficiency competition for college students approved by the relevant departments of the Ministry of Education，The nature of the competition belongs to the non-profit sex education public welfare undertakings。This is the 25th National English Competition for College Students。 According to the Notice of the 2024 National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) (see Annex 1 for details), our University will inform you of the specific arrangements of the 2024 National English Competition for College Students as follows:
1. Time and place of competition
Preliminary round:9:00-11:00 am, Sunday, April 21, 2024 Venue: Guiyang Institute of Information Science and Technology;
National finals:Saturday, May 19, 2024 9:00 am -11:00 PM: To be confirmed。
2. Object of competition
Our full-time undergraduate students of general higher education can voluntarily register for the competition, advocating "focusing on participation"。This competition is divided into four categories: B, C and D, of which Category B is suitable for English major undergraduates.Class C is suitable for non-English major undergraduates.Class D is suitable for art undergraduates。
Three, the scope of proposition and competition question type

2.Competition question type:The full score of the preliminary and final written tests is 150 points (90 points for constructive response questions, 60 points for selective response questions), of which the listening test is 30 points。The final oral test has a maximum score of 50。This question examines the basic English knowledge and skills of college studentsYes, it also focuses on testing college students' English comprehensive application ability, reading ability and intelligence level。This competition will learn from the new English test types and test methods at home and abroad, and make innovations on the basis of maintaining the relative stability and continuity of the question types。The content of the competition will further strengthen the strength of English "double base" examination,And strengthen the examination of "ability" orientation,Finish the preliminary, final listening test and final oral test,Enhance the examination of language application ability at the discourse level,At the same time, we will design some contests to test intelligence and comprehensive English ability, To increase the degree of differentiation of the contest。
In order to make teachers and students familiar with the question types and contents of the competition and achieve good results in the competition, the office of the National Competition Organizing Committee will publish the sample questions on the official website of the National English Competition for College Students and the College English edition of English Tutoring Newspaper from the date of the competition notice。The range of proposition, question type, question amount, score arrangement, difficulty and levelness of the sample questions are basically consistent with the formal competition questions, for the reference of the majority of participating teachers and students。

Iv. Registration method
The online registration method will be adopted. The registration period will be from February 27, 2024 to March 17, 2024. Please log on to the registration website of the National English Competition for College Students (http://www).saikr.com/neccs/giist/2024) for registration, late will not be resubmitted。(Please refer to Appendix 2 for the registration method.)
The registration fee is 50 yuan/person. The registration fee will be automatically charged by the registration system of the National English Competition for College Students. The registration will be successful if the online payment is completed。
V. Other related matters
1.No participant may miss the test without reason。
2.Please bring valid documents (admission ticket, ID card) to participate in the competition。
3.The certificates of the winning students will be issued by the Organizing Committee of the National English Competition。
4.How to check the award: After the final, you can log in the registration website to check the exam results and award level。
