Founded in 2004, the Department of Chemical Engineering has trained more than 1,100 senior professionals of all kinds, and its graduates are distributed in various industries such as government departments, planning departments, environmental protection departments, biotechnology departments, and medical and health departments。

Relying on Guizhou University, it has a strong teaching force, with 23 full-time and part-time teachers, including 14 professors and associate professors, and a special chemical experiment, which can meet the needs of students' daily scientific research and experiments。The quality of the students is high, many students have been admitted to graduate school, and many students have gone to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia and other places for exchange study。

The Department of Chemical Engineering currently has two majors, environmental engineering and biological engineering, with a total of 451 students。After years of professional construction and reform, it has formed a talent training program that meets the needs of society, pays attention to process management and quality control, and has formed a professional talent training concept of "seeking development with characteristics and creating brands by quality", and has significantly improved the level of running a school。
