On May 16, the third "Chinese Chanting" preaching and exchange meeting was held in Yangming College of our school。The event was lecturing by Ms. Xiao Yao from Yangming Academy and presided over by Mr. Yang Yingjun from Yangmingguo Society. More than 100 student representatives participated in the event。

Xiao Yao gave a special lecture on the reciting of ancient Chinese poems and texts, explained the history and basic methods of reciting, and led the participants to learn Mandarin and traditional reciting tones of representative works of various genres。Xiao Yao first recited "The Book of Songs · Guan Ju" with the Tang melody, and sang Li Bai's "Will Enter the Wine" together. Then she took "Quiet Night Thinking" as an example to practice the intonation of words and phrases according to the character line and the words according to the meaning of the intonation, and recited the intonation of Dai Xuechen。Then, taking Du Mu's Qingming and Naalanxingde's Sauvignon Blanc as examples, Xiao Yao practiced the reading rules of metrical poems, such as flat tones and low tones and oblique tones, and recited them in Chinese tones and new tones。In the end, Xiao Yao introduced the ancient Chinese characters with heavy and long reading, reciting Zhou Dunyi's "Love Lotus" with Xu Jianshun intonation, and showing Su Shi's "Qianchibi Fu" with Dai Yi intonation intonation。The loud and melodious sound of reading filled the lecture hall of the college。
